With the current situation regarding Covid-19, and with many of us staying at home for the foreseeable future, April is the perfect time to give your home a spring clean, and with Easter falling the latest it has in almost a decade, this month is ideal to get your house ready for visitors. So, turn your tired and outdated looking bathroom into a brand-new bathing haven.
Certain rooms of the home can naturally get a little neglected, so why not treat those spaces to some extra TLC? With water and steam a daily occurrence, bathrooms often need a little more looking after than other rooms. Grout can look less than white and so require more attention, and areas that might be hard to reach such as behind the toilet or sink, can sometimes get forgotten. Simple ingredients, such as baking soda, vinegar and essential oils* can all be used to keep the bathroom looking and smelling fresh and clean!
If you have a shower curtain, remember these are more susceptible to mould and mildew. The good news is that they can easily be cleaned on a regular cycle in your washing machine (although check the care instructions) and will come out as good as new! And, a great tip to keep your bathroom windows looking sparkling (which always helps to make a bathroom look extra shiny!) is to wash them on a cloudy day; it will help ensure the sun doesn’t dry the glass too quickly and leave streaks. Another useful suggestion is to clear out the bathroom cupboards and cabinets; most toiletries have a shelf life, which can be found on the back of products. If they have gone over this date or length of time, be sure to throw them out
