Trojan Annual Review 2019

The past year has been a very exciting – and very busy – year for us here at Trojan. We started the year with our ‘Did you know?’ marketing campaign, which highlighted some interesting facts about how consumers use their bathrooms but also specifically their baths! There were some interesting stats that surprised us all but it proved the need for the wide range of Trojan baths that we produce, as our end users are always very clear on what they want!

In Q2 we relaunched our premium Ramsden & Mosley range, with a new website, brochure, POS and range of comms to support the launch. While Ramsden & Mosley has been around since 2016, we wanted the visual element of the brand to be as premium as our beautiful solid surface baths. The end result is something we are extremely proud of and have a range of POS that all retailers can use – if you want some, please just get in touch!

In Q3 we focused on our Bathe Easy range, with a pack of fabulous postcards designed to help all of those sales people who are on the road selling our easy access baths and range of accessories. With the number of people in the UK with disabilities increasing year on year, along with an ageing population, the Bathe Easy range is more popular than ever. We are already considering how we can expand the range further in 2020 so watch this space!

In October we opened our new showroom! It’s been a long time coming but we could not be more proud of the end result. Showcasing all of our ranges, the showroom is a true reflection of the Trojan offering as we head into a new decade! The door is now firmly open for any of our customers to come and visit and sit in a Bathe Easy bath for themselves or see just how the Trojan Spacesaver bath really does save space in a small bathroom.

However, we cannot bring the year to a close without mentioning some of the fabulous celebrations we’ve had in 2019. In March we celebrated our long service awards, with a collective 825 years of experience and dedication to Trojan, all in one room!

In June, our founder Maurice Mosley received a Lifetime Achievement Award from our friends over at BKU. A much deserved award, Maurice has dedicated over half of his life to the bathroom industry, driving Trojan forward with the grit and determination that established the business in the first place. Still coming into the office every day to keep on eye on us all, Maurice is very much the heart of Trojan and it was a great excuse to have a huge Summer Celebration in July, which we cheekily called Trojanfest - to mark his 90th birthday.

However, on Maurice’s actual 90th birthday in October, we made sure he had a very warm welcome when he arrived on site at Ramsden Mills – our manufacturing home in Huddersfield – as all 140 employees on the site lined the driveway, cheering and clapping as Maurice arrived. After a rousing chorus of happy birthday, Maurice blew out his candles and chatted to all of the team, some of whom he has known for over 36 years now! The local newspaper, the Huddersfield Examiner, featured Maurice’s 90th birthday celebrations and he went viral!! Subsequently, the newspaper came in to write a full double page spread on our founder, which saw him grace the front page and tell his fabulous life story.

November saw Maurice then recognised by The Manufacturer in their Top 100, in a glittering ceremony in Liverpool. Rubbing shoulders with those individuals who have made a real difference in manufacturing in the UK, Maurice was certainly the star of the show and a real hit with the whole Manufacturer team.

As the year comes to a close we look back at another extremely busy, but very successful, 12months as we have continued to drive the business forward, launching new products and a wide range of marketing communications. But most of all, we have made some fabulous memories with some very special people and for that we are truly thankful!

Here’s to 2020 and continued success for us all.
