Home » CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT: BRINGING TRAYMATE BACK TO MARKET WITH BARWICK BATHROOM DISTRIBUTION

NEWS & INSIGHTS

For more than 40 years, Barwick Bathroom Distribution has supported bathroom retailers across the UK, combining a comprehensive portfolio of leading bathroom brands with the knowledge and service needed to help customers grow.

Based in Bradford, Barwick has expanded from its Yorkshire heartland to become a nationwide bathroom distributor. Our partnership as a fellow Yorkshire business and UK bath manufacturer has been established for over five years, built around shared values of quality, innovation and a commitment to doing more for our customers.

We spoke to the Barwick team to find out more about its partnership with Trojan and the products helping its customers deliver practical, well-designed bathroom solutions.

Barwick Bathroom Distribution is a leading bathroom distributor, serving retailers up and down the country for over 40-years. We work with some of the best bathroom brands in the industry through our comprehensive portfolio.

Our knowledge and service have real tangible impact in supporting the growth of our customers. With years of experience in the bathroom sector and a team of incredibly well-trained people, we’re best placed to support bathroom retailers.

While Bradford and Yorkshire remain at the heart of our business, we have expanded significantly in recent years. Several depots across the UK and dedicated area sales managers now allow us to serve customers nationwide. We work closely with bathroom retailers of all shapes and sizes, with a large proportion of our customers typically operating a brick-and-mortar showroom and serving the mid to high-end market.

We have worked alongside Trojan for around five years.

As Trojan are a Yorkshire based company with a focus on quality, innovation and an unwillingness to simply sit back, the partnership seemed to write itself really as these are traits that we strive for at Barwick.

We stock a number of Trojan products, the chief of which is Traymate. We carry the Symmetry, Elementary trays and the immensely popular Linear lines in a wide variety of dimensions which suit just about any space.

Trojan have taken on Traymate and completely overhauled just about everything to combat some of the challenges previously faced by the brand, before it was under their wing. Now, the Traymate products are solid, aesthetically pleasing shower tray solutions.

Second to that we also sell the Bathe Easy range which offers a bathing solution for those with accessibility challenges. Importantly it doesn’t compromise on style and is a fair chuck away from some of the more sterile offerings on the market which feel more medical and less relaxing.

Going back to Traymate, the new and improved range demonstrates Trojan’s willingness to listen, adapt and improve its products.

The Vortex waste system provides efficient wastewater removal, while the upgraded anti-slip coating responds directly to customer feedback about the previous solution being too rough underfoot.

Another practical benefit is the ability for Traymate shower trays to sit virtually flush to the ground. This can provide a wet room-like experience without the cost, timescale or logistical requirements of installing a full wet room. That makes the trays particularly useful for customers looking for accessible solutions, as well as young families and homeowners who want a more contemporary bathroom design.

We’ve been working closely with Trojan this year to support a bit of a re-launch of Traymate back into the market. The support they’ve offered has been fantastic and it really has felt like a partnership where we’re all pulling in the same direction.

With sleek aesthetics becoming increasingly important in domestic bathrooms, we see potential in invisible anti-slip technology.

We would like to see Trojan explore this as an additional option for its Traymate lines, providing the safety benefits of anti-slip technology while maintaining a clean, contemporary appearance.

It’s no secret that the market is challenging now. With financial and political upheaval around the world driving prices up for us all, there seems to be a reticence to spend. As a company, we’re constantly moving forward, looking for solutions to challenges.

So yes, there’s a number of exciting things in the pipeline for the second half of this year and the start of 2027 – probably more so than if the market was booming. So, all we’ll say for now is watch this space – things are coming!

Our relationship with Barwick Bathroom Distribution demonstrates the value of a strong trade partnership, with both our businesses bringing knowledge, experience and commitment to quality.

As the partnership continues to develop, the focus remains firmly on supporting UK retailers with bathroom solutions that meet the future demands of the bathroom market.
